The Grand Dragons & Whimsy Launch!

Hey peeplets and welcome to Dragons & Whimsy! The brand-new-but-not-quite blog from me!

brand new information

You may know me as Jaedia, my online gaming persona, or perhaps Hannah, the girly behind the avatar occasionally found with her nose in a book. However you know me, you’re probably here because you followed a blog of mine and may have been aware that I had not one.. not two.. but FIVE whole blogs dedicated to different hobbies and interests of mine and when you heard about this, thought I was a bloody crazy woman. Or you didn’t know and you’re now going, “You what?” This blog seeks to merge these blogs into one. We’re calling it a… geek and lifestyle blog, or a ‘stuff blog’ for short.

So what can you expect from me at Dragons & Whimsy? Well. To begin with, I have imported all five blogs so if you do want to read through any of my old content by any chance, it’s right here in the archives (and my word my book blog did NOT want to come on over for a long while there), though categories and older links are still under construction. It’s such a big job getting them sorted out that I’ve been putting it off so I decided.. why the hell not just launch and do it as I go? The five blogs imported focused on gaming and books, primarily, and the other three were my personal blog, as well as one for my fiction writing updates and one for my love of anime. Of course, I’m also into history, TV shows of the mostly geeky variety, music, I’m an animal lover, I’m into all sorts of stuff. This blog is not a themed blog. This blog is about me and my passions. I have got the categories listed in the sidebar there for you, so if you only want to read the posts about books, you can easily filter out the rest, and that’s totally cool with me. But we’ll most likely be focused on gaming and books, primarily, let’s face it. I’m pretty much a massive geek.

Charlie Bradbury
What would Hermione do? How about what would Charlie Bradbury do?

The other thing I will be doing is reducing my social media presence. No, don’t panic! Not like that. I mean.. I have an instagram, pinterest, tumblr, TWO twitters, Facebook, plus a page for my book blog, I’m on Google+ x3, reddit, youtube.. the list goes on and it’s bloody ridiculous, guys, so from now on, my Facebook will remain for friends & family only (and yes, some of you count as friends), aside from the Dragons & Whimsy page which is for you guys. I will only be using my @jaedia Twitter account as it has always been my main account and it is my original account, as for the rest.. well.. they will continue being as and when aside from Youtube.

The Hinted At Sekret Announcement

I’ve been hinting at a “super sekret project” for a little bit now. Those who follow me might have seen mention of it. Or you may not have. Either way, it’s finally time to announce my new YouTube idea:

No Time, That’s Fine: Seeking the gems of F2P multiplayer online gaming so you don’t have to.

I haven’t actually named it yet and it may be a little slow starting since I got back into WoW and that’s a bit of a time eater, but there’s an entire market of free-to-play multiplayer online titles out there, hundreds of them! From the MMORPGs, to the MOBAs, and the idea struck me like a bolt of lightning one night that I should start showcasing some of these games on my YouTube channel. I’d already decided to increase my Let’s Plays (another thing I need to get around to) so this is just another series to bolster my channel and have some fun with. I have a great big heap of passion for MMOs so this is my way to give back. There are so many out there and it’s so hard to know exactly which ones are worth your time depending on your preferences. My videos will hopefully give enough information for you to make your own mind up on that front and I look forward to getting it rolling.

As For the Rest of the Blog..

Now that I have more freedom of topic, there will be much less quiet time from me while I blog hop, take breaks feeling guilty for hopping about, and so on. Of course, I’ll still need breaks from blogging in general. I’m still only human. However, this is the only blog of mine you will need to be following now.

Peace out and see you soon!

[This post was brought to you by annoying internet gifs. Thanks, tumblr!]

PS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NOTICE ANYTHING BROKEN OR ASKEW! THIS IMPORT JOB WAS HUGE AND TOOK ME MANY WEEKS TO STRAIGHTEN OUT AND THERE’S A STRONG LIKELIHOOD THAT I MISSED THINGS HERE AND THERE. THANK YOU.

PPS. EXCEPT FOR CATEGORIES, A FUNKY GAMING VIDEOS PAGE, AND BROKEN BLOG LINKS (INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL) – I KNOW. ANYTHING ELSE THOUGH.

  1. I’ve been considering merging my two blogs for the same reasons … sanity and to help with dry spells. Plus it makes a lot of sense to house them under one roof. My brother said it was a bad idea, moving a gaming blog onto a non-gaming blog (because gamers are embarrassing and whatnot) but I really like the idea. Yours looks great and you’ve inspired me!

    1. It depends on your reasons for blogging. You either do it to generate traffic, in which case, sure – a single focus is best. Or you do it because you love it with traffic being background. The majority of people follow a blog for the personality behind it. It’s easy to skim past stuff you’re not interested in. 🙂 And thanks!!

    1. Thanks! ^^ I must admit I’ve been slacking on the YouTube since I tried F.E.A.R. and ran away screaming but I do have some gameplay to edit. Perhaps I can post out a couple of “First Looks” and maybe a Rift review soon. And a couple of episodes of me being stupidly scared playing FEAR. Lol.
