Random Acts of Kindness (August)

The idea behind Random Acts of Kindness, or RAK, is to show a little love to fellow bloggers. People create their wishlists and sign up and send books to each other, basically. It puts a smile on people’s faces, and that’s always a good thing. Hosted by Book Soulmates.

  • Sign up each month that you’d like to participate.
  • Show off your participation by grabbing our RAK button 🙂
  • Create a wish list (on Amazon, Goodreads, or your blog etc) and post it in the Google Doc located in each R.A.K post for the month.
  • If you choose to do a R.A.K for someone, check out their wish list and contact that blogger for their address.
  • NEW REQUEST: Please, once you receive a RAK, come back to the Google doc and mark the box that says you’ve received one. There are a lot of requests for this!
  • At the end of the month, SHOW US YOUR R.A.K!  Make a post saying ‘Thank You’ to whoever granted one of your wishes and share it with us 🙂

OPEN TO EVERYONE!
Let’s keep our International bloggers in mind and in our hearts.
Remember, there’s always the Book Depository and they offer FREE shipping!

Wow okay, so last month when I signed up, I said that I didn’t expect to actually receive anything. I was wrong and I am very very grateful to the wonderful ladies who gifted me the books I listed yesterday. I couldn’t afford to send anything out last month, and whilst I can’t guarantee being able to this month either, I’m really hoping I can send one or two and make some days.

My wishlists are linked in my sidebar. I have a steampunk wishlist to coincide with my upcoming Discovering Steampunk feature, my Amazon wishlist is prioritised (I’m sad like that, I spend time rearranging them depending on my mood..), and then I have a Book Depository wishlist as well because I know some of you prefer it. Here’s a snippet of my most wanted at the moment:

  • The Inheritance Cycle books – the shiny new ones with the coloured page edges
  • The Dark Volume by G.W. Dahlquist – the sequel to Glass Books of the Dream Eaters
  • The Iron Fey series – all but book one, so 2+
  • Outlander series – starting with Outlander/Cross Stich
  • Catching Fire and Mockingjay – the second and third books in the Hunger Games series
  • Night World bind-ups 1 and 2 – picked up 3 in the charity shop
  • Dead in the Family – book 10 of the Sookie series
  • Ghosts of Ascalon and Edge of Destiny – the Guild Wars 2 books
  • The Parasol Protectorate series – all but book one, so 2+
  • The Clockwork Century series – all but book one, so 2+
