In My Mailbox #07

In my mailbox is a meme that can be found over at The Story Siren, intending to share any books bought/gifted/borrowed over time. I’ve decided to post these on Wednesdays sporadically, with the intention to  share what I’ve got my hands on recently. Thanks to primarily Goodreads and Amazon for blurbs and covers. Links provided if you’re interested in buying any of the books, or reading a few reviews.

Just the one this week, but it’s a good one! Don’t read the quote box if you don’t want spoilers for The Final Empire.

The Well of Ascension (Mistborn #2) – Brandon Sanderson

Evil has been defeated. The war has just begun.

They did the impossible, deposing the godlike being whose brutal rule had lasted a thousand years. Now Vin, the street urchin who has grown into the most powerful Mistborn in the land, and Elend Venture, the idealistic young nobleman who loves her, must build a healthy new society in the ashes of an empire.

They have barely begun when three separate armies attack. As the siege tightens, an ancient legend seems to offer a glimmer of hope. But even if it really exists, no one knows where to find the Well of Ascension or what manner of power it bestows.

It may just be that killing the Lord Ruler was the easy part. Surviving the aftermath of his fall is going to be the real challenge.

You probably saw my gushing over The Final Empire, I’ve been waiting all weekend for this one. Yes, I’m impatient, I finished The Final Empire on Saturday and Sundays are boring, so it’ll have to wait a week or two now because I had to pick something else up to stop me going insane yesterday, but I’m glad it arrived I loves it and I will read it as soon as I’m finished with The Name of the Wind. I’m totally hooked on fantasy at the moment and Mistborn is fabulous.

  1. I have been wanting to read the Mistborn series but my library didn’t have them and I’m cheap at the moment and hate talking to the librarians. So I’ll have to look into them. But I did read his book Warbreaker I absolutely loved that book.
