The Current State of My Gaming Loves and Plans: Jan 2016

I think that in 2016, I want to focus on World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, and Black Desert Online. But I’d also like to periodically play some Blade & Soul, Star Wars the Old Republic, The Secret World, Wildstar, Guild Wars 2, and Final Fantasy XIV. But primarily? Those first three.

WoW because.. well.. it’s WoW. It’s still a world that I am invested in, for better or worse. ESO I’m finally settling into and levelling a character and loving it. And Black Desert is an MMO I’ve been looking forward to since I first heard about it and I still very much want to dive into it when it launches over here.

The others are all MMOs that I love for one reason or another and wish I had more time for.

Equally, in 2015 I finally decided to set aside a few games. Rift, for one, I have ranted about to quite an extent and how disappointed I am with how it has ended up. It has some great content and updates.. but I can’t get over how cheap the experience feels now. Tera, as well, I can’t be doing with. The character models put me off too much and the story wasn’t much better, or the community. The combat was great fun, but I don’t need to play it for the combat with Blade & Soul and Black Desert, heck, ESO.

As for upcoming MMOs, aside from Black Desert.. there’s very little. I’m kind of interested in Bless Online, and EverQuest Next, and Albion Online, but the latter doesn’t intrigue me that much, and the former two well.. we might not even see them, let’s face it.

There’s a few single player games I want to finally set down to playing, like Witcher 3, I’ve still got the Dragon Age: Origins DLC, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition to play through. There’s American Truck Simulator (laugh it up, I love ETS2), Dragon’s Dogma, Elite Dangerous, Fallout 4, Cook Serve Delicious 2, and a bunch more I need to play through for my story addiction and to try and all that.

Basically, I have gaming plans for 2016. MMOs are, as always, my focus and my main love, but there are some others I want to poke around with as well. Chances are I’ll forget all of this in a week’s time but sod it. I just suddenly felt like logging my current thoughts and gaming plans and interests.

PS. I joined Whitestar in December and finally found time to play with them and they are lovely people. Hurray. <3

    1. I suppose. ^^ Though they’re doing a lot of things that greatly appeal to me and that is something I need to check out. I agreed to write a column for MMOGames on the game so that also pushes me towards it.

      See you in Tamriel! πŸ˜€

  1. Who! You have a long list and that is good! Currently, I’m working on Dragon Age: Awakening, Dragon Age II, Dragon Age: Inqusition, Assassin’s Creed II, Assasin’s Creed: Black Flag, Assasin’s Creed: Syndicate, Mass Effect, The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2, The Wolf Amoung Us, Game of Thrones, and finally I’m in a monthly gaming group where we have to play certain genres of games. This month we are playing dating sims or otome games.

I hope you love Dragon AGe! It’s my favorite series from BioWare.

    1. A fellow story-gamer! <3 I luuurve the Telltale games, and I'd like to work through all of Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and check out Assassin's Creed. I also checked out an otome this weekend! Amnesia: Memories. Sounds like a fun idea for a group. πŸ™‚

  2. Short and to the point. Nice post. It’s good to hear what you’re up to, and I wish you a great year of gaming.
